Amazon UK has started a bit of a debate over the likely release date of the upcoming Sony PSP in the UK, as they have stated on their website that the Sony PSP will not be available to ship until the 29th of April for UK customers.
This isn't the first time that the online store has indulged in a little crystal ball gazing in relation to the PSP. It was only at the beginning of this year that Amazon predicted a ship date of the 18th March 2005. That looks less and less likely to occur as sales in other regions have dented stocks of the console, which is proving to be more popular than Sony appear to have forecast.
There has still not been any official word as to when Sony expect to ship their new handheld console in Europe, so this date from Amazon is currently purely speculative. Sony have however confirmed that the console will be available in the US on the 24th of March.
We can only hope Sony's European customers will not be delayed for too long by this seeming product shortage, and as soon as we hear when they intend to ship, we'll let you know.
